Talk work to me.
A free 30 min 1:1 workshop for anyone feeling under-networked, under-mentored, or under-sponsored.
Having mentors, sponsors, advisors, and coaches helped me. Some I met with once, some became life-long friends. But their guidance gave me the courage to apply to my first job at Spotify, supported my six years at Apple, my two at The New York Times, and ultimately gave me the confidence to leave corporate life and co-found my own company, Trouble Inc, and then onward again becoming SVP of Product at Polaroid.
So, if you are even one of these:
- New to tech, media, marketing, or brand strategy?
- Starting your career and not living in NYC, SF, LA, or London?
- Asking yourself what hiring managers at companies like Apple, Spotify, Polaroid, and The New York Times look for?
- Working in a different culture than you were brought up in?
- A first-time manager?
- Feeling like your way of thinking and working is different from those around you?
- Thinking about (but terrified of) starting your own company?
I want to help. I’ve been where you are. I’ve struggled with all of the above.
So please come at me with a specific work problem relating to the above; Talk work to me office hours are Tues & Thurs.
You can book a session here.
If you want more background on my career, check out the slides for this talk I did called, 10 years of work, risk, and gifs! (It includes a screenshot of my very embarrassing 2009 website job application to Spotify.)
Talk work to me was inspired by my brilliant friend Millie Tran, who also hosts a weekly one-on-one coaching sessions for women, particularly women of color, in journalism and digital media. Find out more here.
